Amusement parks in Tenerife

Tenerife has a wide range of theme parks with different settings that offer fun proposals for all ages. Live a unique experience visiting water parks, adventure parks, zoos, Chinese light parks, ethnographic parks, botanical parks and a trip to the medieval world.

Water parks
It has several water attractions such as giant water slides, the Mai Thai River, Naga Racer, wave pool, Sawasdee children's area, a floating market, restaurants, white sandy beaches, tropical fish, waterfalls, rainforests and exquisite oriental architectural design. It has established itself as the world's best water park according to TripAdvisor.
Combine the thrilling fun of the slides, tornado, rapids, Tsunami, Multisurf, Twister Racer and Flying Boats with the sublime relaxation of the outdoor swimming pool with 25-degree heated Jacuzzi and all the children's attractions.
Maritime Park of Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Beautiful swimming pool complex located on the shores of the Atlantic, adorned with volcanic rocks, palm trees and ornamental plants, as well as saltwater waterfalls. It has a solarium, playgrounds, bar, restaurants and changing rooms.
Set of swimming pools by the sea, as well as a garden and museum of sculptures by César Manrique. The lake area stands out, with more than 30,000 m². In one of the pools you will find a bar with a 25-metre long bar. There are changing rooms, solarium, bars and restaurants.
Adventure parks
Adventure park in the trees, located in the Protected Landscape of Las Lagunetas, 1400 metres above sea level. It offers the opportunity to slide down the longest zip line in the Canary Islands, with more than 230 metres in length, cross suspension bridges, climb up to 30 metres high in a Canary Island pine tree and jump over lianas.
More than a million light bulbs, 800 figures, silk and an ancient dragon over 40 metres long make up this park dedicated to the traditional Chinese lantern festival. Each figure tells a legend and brings to life fantastic creatures, animals, plants, the marine world, Chinese culture, international architecture and much more.
Zoos
Around 350 species of parrots can be observed. There is a dolphin and sea lion show, an aquarium with an underwater tunnel, a penguin farm and a Thai village. It's all in a huge park that is worth a visit on its own.
You will be able to observe the animals in their natural habitat, but without shows, as it is currently a breeding centre for endangered animals. In the contact area you can interact with and feed lemurs, monkeys and turtles. In addition to a wide variety of primates, you can see various types of exotic birds and visit the reptile house with snakes, iguanas and crocodiles.
A landscaped jungle where you can see white tigers, leopards, lions, pumas and jaguars. There is also a flight show with exotic birds. The highlights for everyone are an 800 m long toboggan run, the waterfall, a suspension bridge and a stalactite cave with a waterfall.
In 1988, it was the first camel breeding centre in Tenerife. Located in the south of the island, 10 minutes from Los Cristianos, as well as offering camel rides, it is a farm where various types of animals live, such as ducks, goats, donkeys, chickens, dogs and African grey parrots.
In the north of the island, in the municipality of El Tanque, you can take a camel ride, eat in a Canarian restaurant and see local animals such as goats, ponies, donkeys and camels.
In Icod de los Vinos, in the north of the island, you can visit the air-conditioned tropical garden, located in a glazed space of 400 m², where some 800 butterflies from different parts of the world fly free. You can watch how they are born, how they reproduce and enjoy a small cinema with films about the world of insects. A few metres from the butterfly farm is the Parque del Drago Milenario de Tenerife. This tree, declared a National Monument in 1917, is more than 16 metres high, 20 metres in diameter, 80 tonnes and has 300 branches. In addition, the park is a lush expanse of botanical gardens covering more than three hectares, with impressive examples of native flora and a rich cultural exhibition.
Botanical Gardens
Acclimatisation Garden La Orotava - Puerto de La Cruz
Just a 20-minute drive from Finca La Gaviota, it offers its visitors an impressive variety of plants, consisting of more than 100 species of trees from all over the world. Among others, the large ficus trees with their mystical-looking, partially protruding aerial roots stand out.
In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, next to the Parque Marítimo, you can visit a 12-hectare botanical garden dedicated to palm trees, organised in «biogeographical sections» and cared for without pesticides or fertilisers. Lush subtropical nature with waterfalls, streams, lakes and a museum.
Ethnographic Parks
They are located on the east coast of the island of Tenerife, some 26 kilometres from the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. There are six constructions in the form of stepped pyramids. In 1991 it was discovered that the complex marks the sunset on the summer solstice on one side and the sunrise on the winter solstice on the other.
Journeys to the medieval world
Built in 1987, it is a 6,000 square metre construction with 17 metre towers, built with Canto stone, typical of the Canary Islands. You can live a medieval experience with the Knights of the Round Table fighting in a 50-metre long arena while you enjoy the banquet.
